Hey!
How ya going family and friends? Hope everyone is enjoying the snow and the basketball season while I burn under the Australian sun.
Thanks for the emails Mom, Dad, and Matt. I haven't gotten any mail since Christmas, so the email is the best part of the week. I still like to get mail everyone, even thought I've been out almost a year. I'd love to hear from you and what the missionary work is like back in the states!
Mom I cant remember Brady Wrights that we grew up playing ball with. Is he from Michigan or Utah? Is he in our stake? How old is he? Matt do you remember a Brady Wright?
Tell Chris Miller congratulations on his mission call to St. Louis! Fairdinkum! I'm so proud of him! That is where the big arch is right? He has been well prepared in the 15th ward. I always loved how the youngmens program there, is so focused on preparing great missionaries. With Bro. Dabczynski's expertise in teaching and the example of so many other great missionaries from our ward (Matt, Lincoln, Travis) I think Chris will do a bang up job. I will be a year a head of him if he goes in around march 25th. Tell him to be 100% obedient, have faith, and everything else will fall into place in the work.
Sounds like you've been having fun Mom and Dad. Dad, how are you doing. You sounded a bit crook last time I heard from you. Are you over that now? I've been worrying and praying about you all week. Make sure you stay healthy - take all those vitamins mom puts on your plate in the morning - and keep on playing basketball at least 3 times a week. Tell Brooks and Shelton that I say whats up and that I've been practicing so to watch out.
This morning Elder Paki and I Played Basketball at the outdoor court at the chapel with the 2 Samoan young men in our Duncan ward, and Teru Paia'aua. They are sweet players. I miss the brown people down in the city. But I'm learning to love the palangis up here in Rocky. This afternoon Elder Paki and I are climbing Mt. Jim Crow with the Cranes, a cool family in our ward. We got one of there daughters (Sariah) to come back to church this week for the first time in ages. Shes only 14 but she hasn't been to church in forever. She wouldn't admit it, but I think she enjoyed coming.
The Cranes are the ones that had us over for Christmas. They have always been great to the missionaries and we are grateful for them. They are bringing a few non members with them, so hopefully we can set up appointments to teach them.
Tell Lizzy Dabczynski that I say congratulations and that I said "I hope your experiences are unforgettable". She was always so cheerful. Tell her to keep on smiling. Well, I'm sure she will be at her wedding.
Give everyone big squeezes for me next Sunday when everyone is at Valerie's place for Sara B's Birthday.
Tell Kristin that I loved her Christmas card with Syd on the front.
Tell Sara that 'uncle rawboot' says Happy Birthday!
Mom I will have to send you some pictures of my missionary mall Belt soon because it literally fell apart this week. I am wearing my nice Geoferey Bean one everywhere that I usually only wear to church.
Val thanks heaps for the photos of the Kids! They are so Cute! Give them all big squeezes for me. It looks like you guys have so much fun with them. Tell Andrew that he had better be practicing his wrestling in the off season. I'd practice with my companion but I might get in trouble, haha.
Ha sorry for the long emails. I have to write to everyone and thank everyone for all the love. I'll try to keep them shorter from next week on. HA!
Matt where did Elder Kau get transferred to on Oahu? How is it with Greg? Do you slip up and call him Greg sometimes? Sounds like you guys would make a good team. Congrats on all the success you are getting over there bro. Sounds like you are keeping the faith. Since the beginning of the new year and zone conf. I've thought a lot about what kind of missionary I want to be and things I need to change. Sounds like you are the kind of missionary you want to be. Good on ya mate.
Mom can you Tell Grandma Rookhuyzen I say a big Happy Birthday to her! How old is she anyway?
Matt was Greg playing for BYU this past season? How much playing time did he get? Tell him I say whats up.
Andrea, after we go to Hawaii and the islands I would love to take you to Australia and be your tour guide and even New Zealand if you would like. I know my New Zealand geography alright, and I have friends there now.
John where did you move? Good luck with School. Stick it out and have fun with those art classes. Show them how its done.
Matt send me your ward member missionary plan. Or maybe can I just come to your ward for a transfer? No the members in the Rocky branch have actually been really good lately about getting involved with the work - we are just working on a way to harness their efforts and organize it so that it can be passed down from companionship to companionship with out having to start over every few transfers. We will need the help of the branch mission leader to do that. Unfortunately ours is not very helpful. But we have faith.
Does Elder Unga speak fluent Tongan? Who's better at speaking it you or him?
Matt you inspire me to be better in your emails. Sorry if this one was too long.
I love everyone and have the same questions for you that Matt wrote in his email.
The church is true. Bear your testimony next fast and testimony meeting and it will strengthen your faith. I love Australia and every minute of my mission is worth it.
Love you all. God Bless.
Love, Elder Prina.
p.s. Mom and dad which temple did you get married in again?
Mom could you send me the recipe for how to make great guacamole - Rod has heaps of avocado trees. I lost all the other recipes you sent as well. hope you saved them. haha.
