Hey mates how ya goin?
Hope this finds everyone doing well. Mom, Dad, and Matt thank you for the emails. You always inspire me and help lift me up. Its been a week of changes here.
First off i wanted to say Happy Birthday to Mike and Madison! I miss you guys! I wish i could've been there for the family Birthday. How old did you guys turn? Everyone is growing up so fast! Lisa what is your family all up to anyway? I haven't heard from you in a while. Its good to hear that Christian is using the bench press so its not just sitting there gathering dust. Christian you better be able to beat me in an arm wrestle when i get home... and i haven't lost so far on my mission. Christian how tall are you now? Are you getting prepped for the upcoming season? You still Timpview's next 1st string quarter back? That's too bad that you can't use Timpview's Gym. That is a really nice gym, i loved using it.
Mom, did our cousin Leslie's Mission Boundaries change? I just remember reading something in an Ensign about the mission boundaries in Illinois changing... Thats where she is right? How is our cousin Lisa Prina doing on her mission in Italy? Has she tracked down the Prina's there yet?
Dad for some reason i was thinking about a joke you told a while ago but i could remember how it goes exactly. It has something to do with Bill Clinton speaking at an elementary school and how "it wouldn't be a tragedy" or something like that... ya, anyway i cant get it out of my head. How does it go?
Well yesterday was transfers. i've spent the last 6 weeks in Redcliffe as a zone leader with Elder Thunot (2-NO). He was the Man! I loved serving with him! He probably ties with my trainer (E. Brooksby) for the best/most obedient missionary i know. It wasn't too hard to get used to Redcliffe because i've served in that area before. On Friday, Elder Tidwell, the Elder being trained in our flat by Elder Merrill (the Deception Bay missionaries), got a phone call from the APs saying he was flying up North to Rockhampton the next morning and that we were picking up E. Paki(#2) from the bus station in Brisbane Monday night. So he will be replacing my former companion up in Rockhampton. I was so excited for him and was telling him all about Rocky and giving a bunch of information, and people to go see. He turned out to be a really good missionary. He was very prepared. So we dropped him off Saturday morning. Sunday night we got Transfer Calls from the A.P.s and found out that i was to be Transfered on Tuesday. Monday night we picked up E. Paki at the bus station and he stayed the night with us in Redcliffe. Then the next morning (Tuesday) we drove an hour south to the Karawatha Chapel to Transfer meeting. E. Paki actually ended up getting transferred to Redcliffe so he replaced me as jr. zone leader there with E. Thunot. They will have 2 baptisms coming up in this next Transfer. I was Transfered to the Gold Coast! A little over an hours drive south of Brisbane! Its the really nice touristy spot that everyone talks about. I am serving with a kid named E. Lester from California. He is a Twin. But hes fraternal. Hes pretty good.
We don't have a car so we are full time on bikes. After Transfer meeting we went into the gym and did a surprise performance for our new mission president - President Langeland; who's father passed away a few days ago. We planned it out and practiced it early that morning before he arrived. All the missionaries that wanted to participate started by singing "I know that My Redeemer lives" and then when we finished the song we immediately went into this sweet as Haka. The Maori missionaries obviously lead it and were up front since they knew it the best. I had the actions down but i was pretty lossed on the words. But it was so cool. President Langeland said that when we started it he thought we were going to "rip his face off". So it had a good effect on him. Haha. One of the really Maori Elders explained that the meaning of that particular Haka is all about raising the bar of ones standards and things like that.
So after transfers all the missionaries went to the park and played touch for a few hours. Then we drove down to the Gold Coast. When we got to the flat my new comp who has been out under 6 months realized that he had apparently lost his keys at the Karawatha chapel. So we were locked out of the flat and couldn't get to our bikes in the garage. So we had to walk around for the rest of the day. and Then after we finally got to the bikes and into the flat (bishop had a spare key) we had to bike for like 20 minutes to get to our dinner apt. and it was freezing cold! So when i got home my legs felt like jelly. So i will definitely get in shape in this area.
So that's whats going down here. We didn't have time to email yesterday because of that whole series of unfortunate events.
Mom and Dad i've been praying for you that you will be safe as you work. Be careful up there, and don't over do it. Tell aunt Jeanie and Uncle Ray i say hello. Dad i always am articulate when i talk to people. I just like givin ya a bit a stick in the emails so you know how people talk over here. No Mum, i didnt get to go back up to Rocky for zone conference so i was'nt able to get my CD back.
Oh! before i forget i need some new pants from missionary mall! mine are shockin! both pairs have holes and are on 'there last leg' no pun intended. So i'll send you the pictures of them ASAP so you can submit them to Missionary mall for the 2 year warranty refund. That would be great.
Matt i have seen the funny croquet picture in the LOC pamphlet. haha. that's funny that you haven't realized it till now. "I never touched the Liahona! 'Till now..."
Congratulations on getting to go through the temple with your recent convert Mike Brett later this year! that's soo cool! Is he getting sealed to his wife? I didn't even know he was married! Is he still coming over here to Australia? I'm closer to NSW now that i'm here on the Gold Coast, so it will be easier for him to come up and visit me. In fact our chapel is in NSW just across the border.
Well I love you all and hope to hear from yous soon. Hope you are all enjoying your summer while i'm shivering in the cold here in the mornings. Matt thanks for you inspirational stories of miracles, they always motivate me to work harder. Thanks for always being such a great example! Congrats on that golden Baptism! Hello.... I'd like to be baptised! Haha... Tell Elder Simnit i say Aloha, eh?
